From the birth of the knight-errant and his unwavering love for Dulcinea to the arrival of Sancho Panza, the celebrated battle with the windmills, the discourse on the Golden Age, the adventures in the Sierra Morena, the encounter with the lions and Sancho’s governorship of the Island of Barataria, the score journeys through Cervantes’ world, moving between humour, fantasy, lyricism, action and melancholy. The journey ultimately leads to Don Quixote’s defeat by the Knight of the White Moon, his return to La Mancha and the deeply moving final moments of Alonso Quijano.
Díez Boscovich creates this universe through a rich, expressive and deeply narrative orchestral language, infused with elements of the Spanish musical tradition. Leading the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, the composer himself conducts a performance featuring soprano Berna Perles and guitarist Daniel Casares.

ARTURO DÍEZ BOSCOVICH

Born in Málaga, Arturo Díez Boscovich is a composer and conductor, trained at the Conservatorio Superior de Música of his hometown, where he graduated with the highest honors in piano, composition, orchestration, fugue, counterpoint, and orchestral conducting. He furthered his studies with Octav Calleya, Miquel Ortega, and Mario de Rose, specializing in operatic and symphonic repertoire, and studied composition with Francisco Martín Jaime.
He has conducted major orchestras such as the Spanish National Orchestra, the Madrid Symphony, the Málaga Philharmonic, the Seville Symphony, the Barcelona Symphony, and the City of Granada Orchestra, performing in prestigious venues such as the Teatro Real, the Liceu, the Teatro de la Zarzuela, and the Auditorio Nacional. In the operatic field he has led productions of Aida, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, and Nabucco, working with renowned soloists including Carlos Álvarez and Nancy Fabiola Herrera.
In 2010 he was appointed Music Director of the Film Music Festival, and in 2013 was chosen by Cameron Mackintosh to conduct the Spanish tour of Les Misérables. Since 2019 he has served as Music Director of the Teatro del Soho Caixabank, the personal project of Antonio Banderas, where he leads the resident orchestra, the Sinfónica Pop del Soho. With this ensemble he has developed an innovative musical project ranging from Mozart to the Beatles, John Williams, and Musical Theatre, with a fresh, engaging approach and a commitment to artistic excellence.
As a composer he has written symphonic, choral, and film music. His score for the film Urubú (2019) won the Best Soundtrack Award at the Grimmfest Festival. In 2020 he premiered A Teatro del Soho Celebration and Don Quijote de la Mancha, narrated by actor Camilo García. In 2023 he presented his first opera, El caballero de Olmedo, at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, with a libretto by Lluís Pasqual after Lope de Vega, receiving extraordinary acclaim from critics and audiences alike, and establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Spanish opera.
His style combines the operatic and symphonic tradition with the narrative power of cinematic symphonism, a rich and expressive orchestration, and a constant pursuit of communication with the audience.
Camilo García
Camilo García, narrator
Camilo García is one of the most distinguished and recognizable voices in the Spanish-speaking world. An actor, director, and acclaimed voice artist, he has enjoyed a professional career spanning more than four decades, establishing himself as one of the foremost figures in Spanish dubbing and voice performance.
Gifted with a deep, resonant, and remarkably expressive voice, García has lent his talent to some of the greatest names in international cinema. He is especially renowned as the regular Spanish voice of actors such as Anthony Hopkins, Gérard Depardieu, Gene Hackman, Harrison Ford, John Goodman, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Harvey Keitel, Robert Duvall, Max von Sydow, and Christopher Lee, among many others. Over the course of his career, he has participated in more than two thousand film and television productions, becoming an unmistakable presence for generations of Spanish-speaking audiences.
His artistic journey began in the theatre, where he first developed his passion for performance and the spoken word. It was from the stage that he moved into voice acting, eventually becoming one of Spain’s most respected dubbing directors. Among the many productions he has directed are such celebrated titles as Cyrano de Bergerac, A Few Good Men, Big Fish, Mississippi Burning, Working Girl, Awakenings, Jumanji, and Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
Alongside his extensive work in film and television, Camilo García has cultivated a distinguished career as a narrator and voice performer, collaborating on documentaries, radio productions, advertising campaigns, and a wide variety of theatrical and musical projects. His ability to bring depth, humanity, and dramatic power to the spoken word has made him a particularly sought-after interpreter of literary and musical works.

Founded in 1991, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra (Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, OFM) occupies a prominent place among Spain’s leading symphony orchestras. Since its creation, the orchestra has developed an intense artistic activity that has established it as one of the most important cultural institutions in Andalusia, playing a vital role in the musical life of the city of Málaga while extending its influence far beyond its home region.
Based at Málaga’s Teatro Cervantes, where it presents its regular subscription season, the OFM cultivates a broad and diverse repertoire ranging from the great masterpieces of the Classical and Romantic eras to contemporary music.
