L'Apotheose
L’Apothéose was founded in 2017 as a space for celebration, reflection and experimentation for its members. From its origins, its main objective has been to bring the historical interpretation to the highest level, always exposing a clear criterion to make the listener reach the emotional and rhetorical content of each composer. The name of the ensemble was inspired by the title of the work “L’Apothéose de Corelli” by François Couperin, piece that constituted the first musical project for the members of the group and the starting point of a fruitful musical journey. Acclaimed by the critics and the public for the stable basis of all their projects in a quartet format, the colorful and versatile rhetorical content of their performances and, especially for the continuous quality and regularity of the work they do together, they are considered today as one of the reference groups in the historical interpretation in Spain. In recent years L’Apothéose has won 12 national and international awards, always achieving honors in all competitions in which they have participated. These include the First Prize at the 2019 York Early Music International Young Artists Competition (United Kingdom), First Prize at the Göttingen Händel Competition 2017 (Germany), Second Prize at the prestigious Internationaal Van Wassenaer Competition 2018 within the Oude Muziek festival in Utrecht (Netherlands) and the Second Prize at the Concours International de Musique Ancienne de Val de Loire 2017 (France) chaired by William Christie. All these merits have brought L’Apothéose to become “Ensemble in Residence” of the 2019/2020 season of the CNDM (Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical) in Spain and to the main international and national venues such as the Oude Muziek of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the Festival d’Ambronay in France, the York Early Music Festival in the United Kingdom, the Internationale Händel Festspiele Göttingen in Germany, the International Festival of Santander, the Musical Fortnight of San Sebastian, the Festival of Sacred Art of the Community of Madrid, the Torroella de Montgrí Festival, the Early Music Festival of Úbeda and Baeza and the Early Music Festival of Seville between others
