Mezzosoprano Carol Garcia was born in Barcelona in 1983. Her career on music started at very early life, singing in chorus and playing some instruments like piano, guitar and even the bagpipe! She grew up her voice up under the tuition of the mezzo-soprano Francesca Roig. Carol debuted as Rosina in “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at Teatro Real in Madrid. She has been chosen by Petit Liceu to sing Angelina in La Cenerentola directed by Comediants since November 2008 and later she sang this title role at Tenerife's opera festival 09 besides Mariano Rivas/Giancarlo del Mónaco. In 2009, she has been admitted by Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra National de Paris, where she participates in: · Palais Garnier : Atelier Lyrique's anual concert, Les Madrigaux de Philippe Fénelon . In Amphithéâtre Bastille singing Spanische liebes-lieder (Schumann). MC93Bobigny : Hortenzia (Mirandolina from Martinû). Camerata Sant Cugat singing contest : Awarded twice with the First Price and scholarships (2006 and 2007). Montserrat Caballé singing contest 08: Semifinalist (2008). Luis Mariano singing contest : awarded with the second prize for female voices (2009). Francisco Viñas Competition : Finalist, awarded with a scholarship and with the special prize “Grupo de liceístas del 4º y 5º piso” as the most promising spanish singer (2009). Paris Opera Competition : Finalist (2010) offering concerts later. Belvedere Hans Gabor Competition : Finalist (2014) and prize with an engagement in Teatro Real (Madrid).
